Morris College has partnered with non-profit organization, Midlands Fatherhood Coalition (MFC) to provide over 1,300 men and women in South Carolina with professional development opportunities. This groundbreaking partnership will provide participants of MFC the opportunities to earn industry certifications in over 1,000 virtual courses such as cybersecurity, logistics and supply chain management, esports gaming and more, provided by Aperion Global Institutes and Blaze Fire Games.

MFC CEO Angela McDuffie Named ILOC 2022-2023 Fellow. The Investing in Leaders of Color Fellowship is a one-year leadership and capacity-building initiative to acknowledge and support the work of twelve leaders of color who serve communities of color throughout the Carolinas. HDR granted $40,000 for the Sumter Site to build a Dad’s Den. This is a special place for fathers and their children! Much like our Dad’s Den at the Richland Site, Sumter will have a space for dads to gather, for father-child activities and to have access to the internet and laptops for homework help and job applications. The project will be completed by June!

Tracey Morant, 49, came to Midlands Fatherhood Coalition (MFC) to learn how to have an improved relationship with his children. Mr. Morant has two 11-year-old twin sons- Ezra and Eli. The first step for Tracey was to seek court-ordered visitation. Mr. Morant had his twin boys for the entire summer! This was such as special time of bonding for him and his sons! He got to enjoy a father-child activity at a Columbia Fireflies game.
